Client[]

Harry's mother: Winnifred

Mark[]

Donovan Keyes

Summary[]

Harry Wilson's mother, Winnifred, becomes a victim of a deepfake scheme. She receives a manipulated video call that mimics her granddaughter's voice, claiming she needs bail money. Distressed, Winnifred transfers a significant sum, only to realize she's been deceived.

Harry is furious and asks the team for vengeance. Sophie sees that Harry isn’t thinking clearly because he’s far too emotionally involved to be objective. Despite this, she lets him take the lead.

The Leverage team traces the scam to Matka Corp, a front for a criminal operation led by Donovan Keyes, a seasoned pool hustler with ties to Eastern European organized crime. Harry and Sophie engage Donovan in a high-stakes pool game to infiltrate the operation. Meanwhile, Breanna is trapped in the attic above the pool hall, supporting Harry.

Donovan presses Harry’s buttons, digging into his insecurities, and needling at the guilt he feels about his mother. Thrown off balance, Harry gives him his real name and profession to Donovan and offers up his house as a bet. Sophie questions Donovan whether he can even cover that big a bet. Donovan calls Nikolai Bravta and asks him to stake him for the match. Nikolai agrees, and Donovan has Nikolai transfer the money to a holding account.

Meanwhile, Eliot and Parker aim to locate the servers to gain access to the gang’s Swiss bank accounts. They are thrown off balance by three foreign workers dressed as fantasy characters, who trap themselves inside the server room. The frantic workers initiate the process to purge the system. Breanna informs them that the servers will automatically shut down if they turn off the air conditioning. Parker heads to the roof, leaving Eliot frantically trying to befriend the workers with nerd references.

Things heat up in the poll hall, and Harry is flipped onto the table with his hand about to be broken. Sophie tells Breanna to create a moment, and Breanna crashes through the ceiling, landing on the table next to Harry. With that, Harry, Sophie, and Breanna run for it.

Donovan and his goons corner Sophie, Harry, and Breanna. Nikolai calls Donovan, demanding to know where all his money has gone. Sophie recommends that Donovan start running before his goons turn on him with orders from Nikolai and start beating him. Breanna, Harry, and Sophie watch from a distance.

Eliot explains that the workers were forced to work for the Bravta gang, and McSweeten has them and their families in protective custody.

Goofs[]

  • As Sophie talks with Harry back at their headquarters after successfully taking down Keyes, Sophie chides Harry about being "hell-bent" on beating Keyes that he "wouldn't have ended up face down on the table with an almost-broken hand". Harry was on his back or side while on the pool table, but not face down.
