Episode Notes[]
- This episode is unusual as Parker and Elliot make some amateur mistakes. Parker does not lower the tablecloth of the table she is hiding under. She does not need to be able to see in order to eavesdrop and risks being exposed. She does not pull her rope up behind her, leaving it visible to people on the ground. She clumsily bumps into the lighthouse switch, and does not immediately turn it off. Elliot does not turn off the HAM radio before hiding, which allows the antagonists to hear Sophie speaking.
- The nurse make a major HIPAA violation when she tells Harry the name of a patient, where they are, and that her medications are due. This would never be allowed in a hospital.
- Parker thinks Eliot seems happy with Maria
- Parker’s worried that Eliot will leave them for Maria
Trivia[]
- When Harry (played by Noah Wyle) enters the hospital, someone is paging "Dr. Ross" over the hospital intercom. This is a reference to the series ER that Wyle played "Dr. Carter" on for years; George Clooney played a character named Dr. Ross on ER with Wyle. A little later Noah (as Harry) gets to play doctor once again himself to help one of the clients escape the dirty cops. As Harry is formulating his plan to impersonate a doctor, 4 chiming bell notes from the themesong of ER play on the soundtrack. Then at the end of the episode, Sophie asks Harry where he learned all the medical jargon he used during his impersonation, and he simply answers, "TV."
- The episode shows some influence from the movie Key Largo. In the movie, criminals take over a hotel while a WWII vet is on the premises. Here Eliot (also a vet) and Parker end up stuck at a hotel taken over by corrupt police. The movie's protagonist played by Humphrey Bogart is named McCloud. The episode claims the name for the hotel's owner.
- The cops are named alphabetically: Abel, Boggs, Collins, Daniels, Ertz, Finch, and Griffin.
- Eliot (Christian Kane) defends against the bad guy who is wielding a pool cue. Christian Kane guest stars on Supernatural (2005-2020) in the episode Last Call (Season 15, Episode 7) as the bad guy and is killed with a pool cue.
