The Mark[]

Summary[]

A white national group is targeting a gay couple, one of them being beaten up. The couple goes to the Leverage team, telling them how they think their crops have been poisoned as they are all dying. Eliot wants to help them as he gets his food from their farm. The couple got their blood tested, and both are showing signs of Cobalt poisoning. The team connects the poisoning to Blake Whitcomb, a green energy innovator who owns a train car. Blake is building a plane powered by a battery and will reveal his revolutionary battery during a meeting on the train.

The girls go on the train, intent on figuring out how Blake is involved with the white nationalists and the poisoning of the farm. Harry and Eliot stay off the train to investigate the farm. Parker noticed earlier in a video from Blake’s train car that he had a painting frame that doubled as a safe. She believes the battery specs will be in the frame, but the safe is empty when she unlocks it. After Harry and Eliot dig up batteries that have been disposed of on the couple's property, they find out that's where the Cobalt poisoning is coming from. The batteries are leaking high toxic metals. The team concludes that Blake doesn’t have a working battery.

Sophie gets Breanna to talk with the chief engineer on the project, Emily Yoo. Emily gets Breanna inside the train car, and Breanna reveals to Emily that Blake’s battery is fake. They expose Blake’s lies to his investors, discrediting him. The team also uses Mounties on the train to arrest Blake. At the end of the episode, Breanna and Emily share a kiss before the team has a meal with the food the farmer’s provided.
