Leverage: Redemption (previously referred to as Leverage 2.0) is the title of the reboot of the original Leverage TV series. Four of the original cast members returned as their characters: Gina Bellman as Sophie Devereaux, Aldis Hodge as Alec Hardison, Christian Kane as Eliot Spencer and Beth Riesgraf as Parker. Aldis Hodge has a recurring role to accommodate his schedule as one of the leads on the Showtime series City on a Hill. Timothy Hutton is not a part of the series.
Whereas the original series was focused on avenging the death of Nathan Ford's son Sam, the re-imagined series "is propelled forward as a story of misdeeds that need amends", stated Dean Devlin.[1] Devereaux, Hardison, Spencer and Parker have watched over the past eight years as it became easier and sometimes legal for the rich and powerful to get their own way.[2]
Joining the cast is Noah Wyle, who worked with Christian Kane on Electric Entertainment's series The Librarians. Wyle plays Harry Wilson, a corporate lawyer "looking for redemption after realizing he'd been sitting on the wrong side of the table for his entire career". Also joining the cast is Aleyse Shannon as Breanna Casey, a genius mechanical engineer skilled at social hacking and social media manipulation, who became a foster child after her parent's car accident and was taken in by Hardison's foster mother.[2]
John Rogers and Chris Downey returned as consulting producers for the series. In the same announcement, Devlin stated, "Since the day it was cancelled, I've longed to return to the world of Leverage. The show, the characters, the cast and the people who made it happen all hold a very special place in my heart." He added, "I could not be more excited and fired up about returning to the world of Hitter, Hacker, Grifter, Thief!!" In January 2013, he expressed the desire to create a feature film to continue the series as there was a "giant pile of stories we still wanted to tell".[3]
Season 1 of Leverage: Redemption consists of sixteen episodes shown in two groups. Beth Riesgraf directed one episode and Noah Wyle directed two; long-time Leverage directors Marc Roskin and Jonathan Frakes will also direct. It is broadcast on IMDb TV, a free ad-supported streaming service that can be watched on the IMDb website, the Amazon Fire TV device or in the Prime Video and IMDb apps on other devices.[1] The first half of the season, comprising eight episodes, premiered on July 8, 2021. The second half premiered on October 8, 2021.
On December 9, 2021, it was announced the series had been renewed for a second season.[4] (IMDb TV was rebranded as Amazon Freevee on April 28, 2022.)
The series was renewed for a third season on December 5, 2023 and will be seen on Amazon Prime Video in 2025,[5] with John Rogers returning as showrunner.[6]
Synopsis[]
The Rich and Powerful take what they want… and the Leverage team is back to take them down! Sophie Devereaux (The Grifter), Parker (The Thief), Eliot Spencer (The Hitter), and Alec Hardison (The Hacker) have watched the world change over the last 8 years. It’s become easier—and sometimes legal—for the rich to become richer and the powerful to squash anyone who gets in their way. Sadly down one team member, they find new blood in Harry Wilson, a corporate lawyer who is looking for redemption after realizing he’d been sitting on the wrong side of the table for his entire career, and Breanna Casey, Hardison’s foster sister who has a knack for computers, robotics, and getting into trouble.
In this new world, our team will use their collective skills to take down a new kind of villain. From the man who created an opioid crisis from the comfort of his boardroom, to the couple who prefers to deport workers instead of paying them, to the shadowy security firm that helps hide dangerous secrets for a price... when someone needs help, we provide… Leverage.

On August 26, work on Leverage: Redemption along two other productions were halted temporarily as Hurricane Laura approached landfall of the Louisiana coast.[13] All three were able to resume a few days later. Production was halted a second time when Hurricane Zeta made landfall in late October.
On October 16, 2020, Beth Riesgraf posted a picture on her Instagram account, announcing the completion of filming of episode 105.[14]
