Leverage: Redemption[]

Season One[]

While Harry is acting as Fletcher Maxwell’s lawyer, he is finally confronted and recognizes the harm he’s causing others by backing up such a corrupt businessman. Harry intends to steal Maxwell’s Rembrandt from the Boston Museum of Art to get back at him. While attempting to steal the painting, Harry is caught by Sophie and the other members of the Leverage team. Ultimately, Harry trips the museum’s alarm and makes his escape, leaving the painting, only for Eliot to take him out on his escape. When Harry wakes, he is introduced to the Leverage team, which he quickly deduces is a team of thieves. The team agrees to help Harry take down Maxwell. After they discredit Maxwell, he goes on the run to Panama, and the team realizes the job isn’t done.[3]

The team heads to Panama to continue their con to take down Fletcher Maxwell. During the time since their move, Fletcher Maxwell forced Harry out of his job. Harry finds them a building to use as their base while on the con. The team blows up all Maxwell’s money in a safe and takes him down. Harry offers to stay on the team as their inside man, as he knows how the corrupt businesspeople operate, having helped them in the past. [4]

Harry asks the team to help out a client whose father died in an unsafe building project. Harry hides from the team that he wants to help the people out because he was the lawyer that helped cover up the building manager’s, Jason’s, malpractices. The team forgives him for hiding this information and helps him take Jason and his wife down. [5]

Harry goes golfing with Eliot and Hurley. While golfing, Harry overhears where Bishop is to pick up “merchandise” for “cash on delivery” at the “truck stop off I-10”. Being suspicious, Harry tells the others what he overheard, and they decide to investigate. Harry goes to hack Bishop’s lawyer’s, Rick Saffron’s computer. While there, Harry is caught by a new associate, Sarah Nichols, who assumes Harry is Saffron. Harry recruits Sarah as an ally, the pair going together to Bishops’ nail salon. Harry and Sarah determine that the nail salon employees’ documents are in the safe in the back. Harry tries to get into it and fakes a bomb to buy time. [6]

When Becky, Harry’s daughter, is grabbed outside of her house, she goes to her dad to ask for his help. She believes someone is after her stepdad, Ethan, as they’ve noticed people watching them. Ethan is an oil company CEO, and Harry thinks he’s a good guy. After some reconning, the team soon discovers Ethan has been hiding the fact that his company, GulfPetrol’s pipes, are leaking oil into the water. Harry is determined to take him down when he realizes that Ethan is lying. Breanna, Eliot, and Parker infiltrate the oil rig exposing the truth online for all to see. Later, on the news, the team sees that GulfPetrol blew up their oil rig to cover their tracks, and Ethan is going to get away. At the end of the episode, Harry is interviewing for RIZ, saying he’s had a change of perspective. [7]

Two months later, Harry bumps into Sophie while working for RIZ but says nothing. The team attempts to steal Harry from RIZ to learn the company’s secrets. When they grab Harry, the team learns that Harry has been secretly working with Hardison to take the company down from the inside. The team then works together to carry out the plan. RIZ discovers that Harry has been working against them and begin to capture the team. The team then uses RIZ’s demonstration blackout to their advantage. Harry stored hard copies of all of RIZ’s incriminating evidence in a secret compartment of a desk he had custom-built. This, along with a server the team steals, is used against the company. With the con over, Harry tells the team that he thinks he’s done and that he’s going to try fighting for the good guys on his own. [8]

Season Two[]

Sophie surprises Harry by showing up at his legal case. She, and the team, help Harry wrap up his legal case so that he can lend aid to their job. At the end of the job Sophie leaves the door open for Harry to return, suggesting he wants to.[9]

When Harry turns to the team for assistance in helping Sarah with a legal case. Harry asks to lead the con but ends up messing up twice. Sophie offers encouragement getting him her Victor Lustig’s trunk, and Harry ultimately runs the Turkish Prisoner con.[10]

Harry receives a job offer before Sophie appears, telling him she needs him for one last job as she’ll be swimming through her collateral damage. Harry and the rest of the team head to London to face Sophie’s former mentor Ramsey. Upon seeing a reaction to hearing the Interpol agent’s name working the case, Astrid Pickford, Harry asks how Sophie knows her. Sophie explains that Astrid is the duke of Hanover’s daughter and, thus, her stepdaughter. With Billy the Gent’s help, they set Ramsey into a trap in the museum, where Astrid arrests him. Later, Sophie gets a call from Arthur, who had orchestrated everything to set his own trap for the Leverage crew, setting them up to seem to be behind the thief of the Maharaja crown.[11]

Sophie hesitates with the alarms going off in the museum, causing her and Eliot to get locked in. The other team members work to free Eliot and Sophie, trying to slip unnoticed out of the museum which is now swarming with law enforcement. When the team gets free of the museum Sophie realizes that Arthur must have hidden the crown in the museum and suggest that the team find it to take him down. The team goes back in, and work alongside Astrid to make Arthur lead them to where he hid the real Maharaja crown.[12]

Back at the base, Parker tells Harry that she turned down his job offer for him. Harry tries to argue with her, but Parker tells him that he’s a part of their team and he should just accept that he’s a good-bad guy.[12]

Relationships with Other Characters[]

Sophie[]

Harry and Sophie share a close relationship as Sophie took Harry on as her project. Harry seems very sympathetic to Sophie’s loss of Nate.

As Harry is closer to Sophie’s age, she doesn’t feel the same maternal instincts toward him as she feels toward the other team members.

Sophie is always the one to bring Harry back into the crew. She encourages him after he messes up his first time running a con.

In season two of Leverage: Redemption, Harry acts as a support for Sophie as she digs through her baggage, pointing out her blind spots.

Outside of Nate, Harry’s the only person Sophie has expressed any real vulnerability around. He’s the only person who has a sort-of objectivity on her behavior, to guide her and assist her from a confidante standpoint.

Breanna Casey[]

Harry and Breanna connect as both newcomers to the team. Breanna often iterates that Harry’s screw-ups make her look good.

Breanna and Harry bond over having a shared interest in gaming.

As Breanna is the youngest member of the team, Harry seems to be protective of her.

Parker[]

Parker also acts as a mentor to Harry, teaching him how to pick locks[6] and helping him for his first time in the vents. [12] This relationship is mutual, notably in The Card Game Job where Harry walks Parker through her struggles with being Breanna's mentor. When Parker makes an effort to bond with Breanna over the comms in this episode, she looks at Harry for reassurance and approval. Harry says "Great job", and they share a thumbs-up.

Harry is frequently puzzled by things Parker says and the way she appears out of nowhere but accepts it all in good humor. Parker appears to forgive Harry quickly when he loses her "favourite taser" in The Mastermind Job.

In The Big Rig Job, Harry and Parker play two show producers/camera workers from a reality show called "Head Women in Charge". They introduce themselves as "Jamie and Jamie" and both appear to be having fun with the roles, down to walking in step as if in a three-legged race.

Trivia[]

  • Parker taught Harry how to pick a lock and gave him lock picks. [6]
  • Harry spent eight months working with the crew by the end of first season of Redemption[8]
