Aldis Hodge

Biography[]

Aldis Alexander Basil Hodge was born in Onslow County, North Carolina on September 20, 1986.[1] While both of his parents (Aldis Hodge and Yolette Evangeline Richardson) served in the U.S. Marine Corps,[2] Hodge's mother is from the state of Florida and his father is of Dominican heritage.[3]

Hodge played both the clarinet and the violin as a child, but as an adult, his focus is on the violin; he purchased his first at the age of 18.[4] In addition to acting, Hodge designs watches, writes, paints, and attends the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, although he does take breaks from attending full time due to his acting work.[5]

In 2007, Hodge was awarded the role of Alec Hardison on the day of his twenty-first birthday.[6] In 2010, he received a Saturn Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in Television for this role on Leverage. He was nominated alongside Jeremy Davies and Michael Emerson of ABC's Lost; Aaron Paul of AMC's Breaking Bad; John Noble of Fox's Fringe; and Alexander Skarsgård of HBO's True Blood.[7] The win went to Aaron Paul.[8]

Other achievements[]

  • Hodge began building wristwatches at age 19. In 2019, he announced his own line of watches with the "A. Hodge" brand.
  • On September 25, 2020, Deadline Hollywood announced Hodge had been cast as Hawkman in the upcoming Black Adam film starring Dwayne Johnson.[9]
